The Protestant Bible is altered

False! We have the same Bible as you. That of Jehovah's Witnesses is distorted in translation, as it was written several years after the spread of Russel's Geovist doctrines, translated in such a way as to belittle the central figure of Jesus Christ and his divinity .

Unfortunately, in the Catholic world these rumors are circulating but you could immediately get yourself a Protestant and a Catholic Bible and compare them.. The only difference is the lack of some Old Testament books, the deuterocanonical books we call aprocrifi and that are not accepted even by the Jews (read why we trust Hebrew canon) who composed the ancient biblical canon of the Old Testament.

The aforementioned deuterocanonical books were added to the Catholic canon after the Council of Trent in response to the Protestant Reformation which had affirmed that in the Bible the dead are not prayed and there is no Purgatory, as well as the lack of the seven Catholic sacraments, which would be reduced to baptism and Eucharist. In fact there is no trace of the other doctrines, thus the Catholic Church made the deuterocanonical books official and included them in the canon, but this only after the 1500. So it is Catholics who have the Bible altered as they have included uninspired books in the canon and in old age that not even the Fathers of the Church had accepted., that is why the issue remained controversial, and only to defend customs that had become part of popular Catholic practices and only several centuries after Christ.

Here is what the Major Catholic Catechism says

What should a Christian do if he were offered the Bible by a Protestant or some Protestant emissary?

If a Christian were offered the Bible by a Protestant, or by some emissary of the Protestants, he should reject it in horror, because it is prohibited by the Church; than if he had received it without paying attention, he should soon throw it to the flames, or deliver it to your parish priest.

Because the Church prohibits Protestant Bibles?

The Church prohibits Protestant Bibles because they are either altered and contain errors, or, lacking his approval and the declarative notes of the dark senses, they can harm the Faith. For this reason the Church also prohibits translations of Sacred Scripture already approved by it, but reprinted without the explanations approved by the same.

As this last sentence says, the Catholic Church wants to explain in its own way the biblical passages it considers “not clear”, that's why it forbids them. But the Scripture is very clear, God tells us to read it because it is his Word and he did not speak an incomprehensible language to us precisely because it is for us.. E’ the Holy Spirit who speaks in the believer and guides him when he is about to read the Bible honestly and without prejudice. In fact among the many Protestant denominations, many, they all have the same concept of salvation and they all agree on the basic facts of the Christian faith. The differences between them are minimal and marginal and do not affect the fundamental Christian message, because there is no question about that. And anyone who reads the Bible will agree on this. There are no mistakes in our Bibles, because we have the same translations as the Catholic ones, if ours contain errors then the Catholic ones also contain them. The only difference is the lack of notes in ours, as we believe that every Christian is called to a free examination of Scripture.

Yet we Protestants do not reject and advise people not to read the Catholic Bible, (this is the behavior of a sect!) as many of us, before conversion, they began to read the very CEI Bible they had at home. Only thing, we make aware of the non-inspiration of books such as Tobias, Giuditta, Maccabei, Baruch and Ecclesiastical. The two Bibles are otherwise identical. Indeed, the best and closest translations to the original Greek text, they are the Protestant ones, who give greater importance to the Bible and to what it says than Catholics do, who read it much less. And this fact is also recognized by the Catholic authorities.

Then, who has the Bible altered? Catholics or Protestants?
