Easter of the Resurrection: a prayer
The crucifixion of Jesus
When they reached the place called "the Skull", he and the evildoers crucified there, one on the right and the other on the left.
[Jesus said: "Dad, forgive them, because they don't know what they are doing ».] Then they divided his garments, take away the luck.
The people were watching. And even the magistrates made fun of him, saying: “He saved others, save yourself, if it is the Christ, the Chosen of God!»
Even the soldiers mocked him, approaching, presenting him with vinegar and saying:
«If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself!»
There was also this inscription above his head: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
One of the hanging evildoers insulted him, saying: «You are not the Christ? Save yourself and us!»
But the other scolded him, saying: “You are not even afraid of God, you who are in the same torture?
For us it is right, because we receive the punishment we deserve for our actions; but he did nothing wrong ".
And he said: "Jesus, remember me when you enter your kingdom!»
Jesus said to him: "I tell you the truth that today you will be with me in paradise".
Death of Jesus
It was about the sixth hour, and darkness fell over the whole country until the ninth hour;
the sun went dark. The curtain of the temple was torn in the middle.
Jesus, shouting loudly, said: "Dad, in your hands I put my spirit ". Said this, expired.
The centurion, seen what had happened, glorified God saying: "Really, this man was right ".
And all the crowd that attended this show, seen the things that had happened, he would return beating his chest.
But all his acquaintances and the women who had accompanied him from Galilee were watching these things from afar.

The burial of Jesus
There was a man, named Giuseppe, who was a member of the Council, just and good man,
who had not consented to the deliberation and work of others. He was from Arimathea, city of Judea, and awaited the kingdom of God.
He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.
E, I hold it down from the cross, wrapped him in a sheet and placed him in a rock-cut tomb, where no one had yet been laid.
It was Preparation Day, and was about to begin on Saturday.
The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee, followed Joseph, they looked at the tomb, and how the body of Jesus had been laid there.
Then, they went back and prepared aromas and perfumes. During the Sabbath they rested, according to the commandment.

The resurrection of Jesus
But on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they went to the tomb, bringing the aromas they had prepared.
And they found that the stone had been rolled away from the tomb.
But when they entered they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
While they stood perplexed by this fact, behold, two men in resplendent robes appeared before them;
all afraid, they lowered their faces to the ground; but they told them: «Because you seek the living among the dead?
He is not here, but he rose again; remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee,
saying that the Son of man was to be given into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and resurrect on the third day ".
They remembered his words.
Return from the tomb, they told all these things to the eleven and to all the others.
Those who said these things to the apostles were: Mary Magdalene, Giovanna, Maria, mother of Giacomo, and the other women who were with them.
Those words seemed to them a ramble and they did not believe the women.
But Peter, got up, ran to the tomb; he bent down to look and saw only the swaddling clothes; then he left, marveling inwardly at what had happened.

May God bless and support those poor families here in my region, in Abruzzo, who lost their loved ones and were left homeless due to the earthquake. May the Lord touch their hearts and give them hope. Amen.
